The meeting’s purpose was to evaluate the progress made during the first year of the project and to set goals for the next period. Also the main focus of the discussions and planning was the Call for Applications aiming to gather applicants from 30 high-temperature district heating sites in Lithuania, Poland, and Slovakia for support in their way of integrating green technologies by receiving comprehensive technical plan, exhaustive financial plan and investment strategy.

The morning of first day started with a field trip – a technical visit to PPC Energy, a.s., where they were welcomed by Ms. Martina Olejníková, who presented to the participants the current state of the centralized heat supply systems (CHP) in Slovakia. Also a presentation was given by Mr. Peter Viskupič, who explained to the team the principle of operation of the steam-gas cycle and guided them around the company’s premises. The trip continued with a tour of the central boiler premise D4-40 of Veolia Energia Slovensko, a.s. in Petržalka, led by Mr. Michal Hrebík. He introduced to the team how the gas boilers, cogeneration unit and heat pump, which supply heat and hot water to the residents of this district of Petržalka, work together.
